With a long trajectory in both architecture and real estate development which started in 1968, architects Natán Aizenstat and Carlos R. Rajlin have been consistently standing out in the field in Argentina, their home country. Through both the construction of important governmental, institutional, and private projects, as well as the development of numerous commercial and residential real estate projects -which are all described in greater detail in the Projects and Developments section- Mr. Aizenstat and Mr. Rajlin combine one of the largest and most active real estate development practices in Argentina in the last three decades. In 2001, Mr. Aizenstat and Mr. Rajlin have started their activities in the United States, specifically in Miami, Florida with the acquisition of a property in Hallandale which will be developed, creating a 148 unit complex of three residential towers. The most distinguished government projects include the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Argentina Office Building in down-town Buenos Aires; the Argentine Embassy in Asuncion, Paraguay; and the Corporate Headquarters Building of SEGBA (The National Electric Distribution Company in Argentina, currently privately owned by Edenor). All these projects were won in public competitions (see Projects and Developments). The most distinguished private projects include the development of a large number of apartment buildings, towers, and sub-urban communities. (see Projects and Developments). It is usually thought that there are currently two architectures, one which is best appreciated by architects, and another widely appreciated by most of the public. The first kind is usually published in professional magazines and publications but it is usually impossible to sell to the general public. The second kind, in contrast, has often generated esthetically poor and dysfunctional buildings. When a project combines professional architecture with an accurate perceptions of market needs and demands, the most likely result will be a great success. Another factor which determines the degree of commercial success in real estate development is the market considerations relating to demographic and customs trends which in turn determine the new architectural and functional needs.
